Been snowed under with work, which of course is a good thing (yayyy, maybe quitting my office job trying to make a living as a food photographer wasn't all that crazy after all...). Working for some really cool clients, hopefully will be able to share what I've been working on with you soon!

But yes, despite cursing IG for being so addictive, I miss the lovely community on here. How have ya'll been?!? I haven't even had time to scroll through my feed to see all your beautiful creations! 😔

Shot this bowl of cocoa powder way back for the movie theme for the #eatcaptureshare challenge, coating chocolate truffles like in the movie "Chocolat". Wasn't happy with it so the perfectionist in me decided not to post it then. It's grown on me a little since, cause it's messy, wild, and you can't even see the truffle I threw into the bowl 😆. While it looks very much like an attempt, I still like the lighting and texture in the shot.

Remember that antique mirror from a few posts ago? This rustic chair is from the same vintage shop.... oh, second hand/antique shops, why are you taking all my money?! 😆

For theme 7 of the #eatcaptureshare challenge Kimberly asked us to let nature inspire us. I knew I wanted to do something monochromatic with brown hues, because most of nature originates from brown soil. Like the tree this chair was made from, the cotton woven into the cloth, and the mushrooms growing so close to the ground. #creativefoodphotography @thelittleplantation @eatcaptureshare_

OMG... 8k!!! Holy moly, that's just a little crazy! Time to celebrate with this Clover Club cocktail 🍸. Thanks to every single one of you for following me on my photography journey, I'm blown away by your support! 💓

Tried something new today... LIGHT PAINTING! Watched a few YouTube clips and thought that looked do-able 😊
.
I did still take 250 shots because while the camera setup wasn't hard, actually painting something decent with my phone light required a bit of practice. Any little wobble showed!

I set out to capture action with this in-camera double exposure shot... you know, showing the movement of this dusting action, but somehow I ended up with this soothing, calm and quiet vibe. Doesn't it look like that scene from 'Ghost'? As if my guardian angel is looking over my shoulder, guiding my hands. 😇
.
Yup, ok ok, I'm slowly loosing it. 😆😆😆 Maybe I had too many of these sugary apple beignets.
.
But... I got to practice two things. The double-exposure feature (seriously, if your camera has it, play with it, it's crazy fun!), and a very unusual editing style for me. I don't normally edit this soft, and boy-oh-boy did it take discipline to move that clarity slider to the left instead of the right. 😅
.

Hmm, green juice... This one's made with green apples, kale, spinach and no, no celery, that was just used for garnish. My least favourite vegetable, just couldn't do it! 🤢 Which vegetable makes you turn and run?!

As much as I felt creative last week, this week so far has been the opposite. The lack of ideas is worrisome, I really hope this green juice will give me back my drive. 💚 Guess it's normal, we all have days where we feel like no idea is good enough, am I right?
.
Still relieved I came up with this backlit drink scene for #eatcaptureshare's theme 4. Not the newest of ideas, but I'm happy with the door effect, and drinks and backlight are a match made in heaven! Plus, I got to use my newly made backdrop (made from an old palette I found on the side of the road) @eatcaptureshare_ @thelittleplantation #creativefoodphotography

Sometimes you find vintage props that instantly give you an idea for a photo. This mirror was yesterday's find at an antique store, and as soon as I saw it, I knew what to shoot for theme 3 'repetition' for the #eatcaptureshare

It was a rainy summer day today, finally not stink

It was a rainy summer day today, finally not stinkin' hot, so I took my chances here, shooting ice cream in some homemade waffle cones. Was contemplating making fake ice cream, but that seemed like too much effort. Real ice cream at least made me hurry up while shooting 😅
.
This one was one of those organic shoots that evolved into something completely different to what I had in mind. The curtains were never part of the plan, but now I kinda like them! What do you think, curtains 👍 or 👎?

Had the idea for this shot as soon as I read Kimberly's brief for theme one of this season's #eatcaptureshare challenge: an L composition. I felt like crap all morning, but when I shot this my mood instantly changed. What can I say, I guess making a mess makes me happy! 😁
.
The challenge is hosted by the fabulous @thelittleplantation. Hoping to find the time to participate in all 9 themes 🤞. It's a highlight of the year, and while it's intimidating, it's also exhilarating and wonderful how it stretches my creativity, as well as seeing how hundreds of other photographers interpret the themes.
